Has anyone here loaded any cast boolits for the little ruger carbine, and will it feed?

Cast/lead boolits are contra-indicated for use in the Ruger .44 semi-auto Carbines - i.e., unless you like constant FTF's & full disassembly of the gas sysyem for a thorough scrubbing out, including picking lead out of the gas ports.

Thanks, I was pretty sure that would be the story. I am looking for a rifle in 44mag to go along with my s&w 44s because I handgun hunt mostly but would like to have a long gun for those difficult shots. Looks like I better stick to the lever guns. Gunsite

GunSite: get a Marlin 1894 in .44Mag. Either a Rifle 1894 CB24" bbl or a Carbine 1894 20" bbl.

However, I don't know why a Ruger Carbine would foul the gas system any worse than a Garand or M1A which shoot cast just fine.
