dia. of the lyman 20g shotgun moulds

Can someone tell me what the dia of the 2 different Lyman 20gshotgun slugs are.
Not listed on the web sight.

I don't have the Lyman 20 gauge slug moulds but do have both their 12 gauge moulds. I am sure the 20 gauge ones are also designed to be loaded inside a plastic shot sleeve. That would make them a bit less than .58 or so. Anything larger would swell the hull so it couldn't be chambered. After the Holidaze you could call Lyman's product service line and see if someone there could give you specifications (good luck!)

The 20 guage sabot slug measures .560 dia. cast from ww.

I used to have the Lyman 20 ga. Foster but do not recall diameter. If anything like the 12 ga. Foster (I assume it is) it will be undersize for the bore and will give mediocre to poor performance ~ too small for bore/too large for shotcup. The 20 ga. sabot slug is designed to fit into a shotcup so will be sized to suit as curator said.

I suspect the 20 ga. Lyman Foster would be too big for that unless sized. The sabot slug might make it at 0.560" depending on your actual bore diameter.

Just had a thought! You can probably buy some from turbo1889. He sells slugs on one of the auction sites and you can PM him to find out.

Is there a reason you want to go with the slug instead of patched round ball? A good fitted ball and patch should give quite good accuracy but the slug would be a bit heavier.
