Hello All,

I've got a couple barrels to choose from in running through with my new .30 Gibbs reamer. I believe they are all 1 in 10" twist barrels.

Given the elevated pressures/velocities to be expected with the .30 Gibbs, what's the heaviest boolit I can stabilize with these barrels? Can I make a 260 grain from NOE work? What about a 235-240?

Thanks, all.

It would depend on the design. A 260gn with short olgive may work fine while the same weight with long olgive may not. Its length not weight so the shorter boolit of equal weight may work while the longer of the same weight may not.
You can use the design program at mountain Molds to find out what you can get away with. Put in the twist rate and design away and the program will tell you when you have gone afoul.

Mr. Bullshop, the Mountain Molds designer sounds intriguing. Can you provide a link?
