Here is my S&W 16-4 with a scope and now, with a Bushnell Red Dot.

It is a lot handier, I can see the reticule much better and it didn't cost and arm and a leg.

You might say that I am a happy camper.

Much more compact. I'm afraid my eyes are going to force me into something like that soon. I can't seem to get glasses that work for me. I still want to try the Merit disc.

The merit disc works quite well if you are just simply far-sighted. It will allow you to focus on both the target and the iron sights. The Merit Disc, however, does NOT work well in the field.

However, with me, the merit disc no longer works very well. With the Red Dot sights, however, I am back in the game.

Just LOVE those .32's:mrgreen:!

HEAR, HEAR!

That new arrangement DOES look better and more balanced. Nice package.

Thanks, Al. I will be leaving for the range shortly to see how it REALLY handles.

Best of luck, sir. When I first saw the thread title, I thought you meant a powder choice. :-)

I reaized that after I had it up. I slipped out to the range late this morning and this is my first target after getting it sighted in. Two handed standing. It handles much better with the compact Red Dot Sight, also. I had to really crank the adjustments as it was shooting quite low and left. However, the sight has a good bit of adjustment and everything seems just fine.

Now, I just have to work on those "X's"![smilie=1:

Good looking target. What load were you shooting? I am thinking about a red dot sight for my SP101 in .32.

I was using our Group Buy .32 Keith (sized .313" in WW with 2%tin) with 2.8 Win 231 and CCI SP primers.

You can get an idea of what an SP 101 looks like with a Red Dot here:

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=16591&highlight=Dale53

Scroll down the page for some pictures. The Red Dot Sight pictured there is a 30 mm Red Dot that I have now replaced with a Bushnell 1" Red Dot. It looks more in proportion to the revolver (I am using the exact sight that is pictured here on my 16-4 S&W). Both the 16-4 and the SP 101 are chambered for the .32 H&R Magnum.

I really like both of these revolvers. The SP 101 is for woods walking (nice, compact, and light for all day carrying). The electronic sights solves my vision problems in a big way, giving me a new lease on life, shooting wise...:Fire:

Thanks for the kind words. That target was shot on the 25 yard timed fire target at 25 yards (standing, two handed). I'll crow when I can do that at 50 yards! Uh-h-h-h, don't hold your breath[smilie=1:

NOTE!!

The load above, 2.8 grs of Win 231 and a 100 gr Keith GB is in .32 S&W Long cases. I use a LOT of .32 S&W L cases (when H&R cases were unobtainable, I bought several thousand once fired .32 Long cases for a penny a piece). I have run Ransom Rest tests and they seem to shoot as well as .32 H&R cases with mild and moderate loads.

Understand, I put up the Magnum loads ONLY in .32 H&R cases. Just like using .38 Special cases in a .357 magnum revolver, you NEVER use magnum loads in Special cases (the smaller case greatly raises the pressure).
