Hello All,
Fairly new to casting, and learning a lot here. I have a question. I have noticed that some mold designs have a tapered gas check shank as opposed to the parallel shank which I think is most common. Is there an advantage to the tapered shank? I do from time to time have trouble getting a check on a bullet, and sometimes have trouble getting it "square". I can see that the tapered shank might help in this situation, but will the checks be as secure and stay on the bullet?
Your help is most appreciated,
Rick
