I have cast a bunch up with a Hardball alloy and I am making my M-Die now to do it right.

it's a slightly extended rcbs 055-sp.
i use the rcbs in my 9 twist ar's and i have looked this mold over a lot, just couldn't bring myself to get it [or noe's] just yet.
maybe when i start working with my new 7 twist 6_H i'll rethink the heavier boolit

You have one of first 227-65 molds. All others were cut in smaller blocks.

Hi MiHec,
Thats not my mold in the first post just a pic I found to show people what I was talking about! My mold is cut on the 2-cav. blocks. I have been using it the past couple of days and it is a little different to me as it is a very small boolit! I preheat on a hot plate but even starting out that way it seems it takes a few rounds for the mold to get to optimum temp. I start out with my RCBS pro-melt all the way up(850) and then when the mold seems good drop to 750 degrees and the mold stays warm and puts out nice, lightly frosted, well filled out boolits,ad finum! This is using WW material with just a touch of solder and lino for some tin!

I am now just waiting on a lube die from Lathesmith and I can start loading. I made up a dummy round to check function in my 1:7 twist 5.56 NATO cut barrel and it works like factory! Thanks for the great molds, yea I've got a couple!
