I have a Old Model Lyman Spartan Single stage C Press. Would this work for swageing?

It may work ok for 223 bullets but you really what a "O" style press.

The open style presses aren't strong enough to support the pressures on the dies for the larger sizes.

As mibullets suggests, an "O" style press would be better.

The old model crusher would be fine. Very strong press.

The old model crusher would be fine. Very strong press.

Thanks, I am glad to hear that. Is there a size limit as to what bullets could be swage with it?

The first thing you will have to learn is to do the swageing at the sweet spot just before/until the ram reaches the top of the stroke. If you attempt to do any high pressure work anywhere else on the stroke you will not have much satisfaction. Read that breaking things and straining muscles. Some of this will have to wait until you get your swageing dies and see what works for you.

For most swaging it should be fine , until you try to make long 30 cal bullets or something in that range.
.
Remember that most of the real power is at close to the top of the stroke
