Yes guys i have seen the light and a 1911 falowed me home the other day. Well my business partner owns 2 gun stores and this little beauty got traded in for a Glock. I snagged it as soon as I could. It's a Springfield 1911 full rail operator. It's an amazing looking gun and to make it even better its a NM serial. Here she is in all her black glory. Now to find some cast that she likes.

Try a 200 grain swc boolit with 4.0 Red Dot. About 825 fps, amd they all go into one hole.

DON'T PANIC!

You shouldn't have any trouble finding a load to work in that one.

That's a tough gun to find I hear

jt this is just a reminder.
that does not need 72 grs of powder and a 300-400 gr boolit to do what it's intended to do.
around 6 grs of unique and a 200-230gr boolit at .452 will suffice.

that hitchhiker book is a good read by the way.

4.9 grains bullseye. 200 gr swc will group like no other in the 1911s my gunsmith, his sons, and mine. Felix lube acww. Hard to beat. Win primer.

It is funny! That 1911 has always been a love affair for me and even as a kid I made a perfect copy from wood. I used oxblood shoe polish on the grips. I have built them up and worked on hundreds plus shooting most.
But I never bought one for myself! :(
That is a great find, enjoy.

Traded in a Glock for a 1911, great deal. I work as a law enforcement officer on a department that issues a Glock in officer's choice of 9mm, 40, or 45. I and many other decline to take the free Glock and purchase personally owned 1911 for carry. Wise choice..

Welcome to the 1911 fraternity! BTW-what makes the "NM" serial number desirable?

NM means it was made in good old USA, people find that the fit and finish is much better on NM guns.

Now you've got the bug! It won't be your last one. I have found that 5.5 grains of Unique and a 200 gr SWC bullet with a good taper crimp results in good groups and reliable functioning.

Welcome to the 1911 fraternity! Making shooters grin for over 100 years!

The 1911 has superior ergonomics for it's purpose. The fact that more than
20 makers are turning them out after 100 years is amazing.
But it really IS that good.

Very nice, I like 200Gr Lswc and 4.0 or 4.6 Bullseye.

I like the 452460 Lyman boolet over 4.7 Winchester super target lit by Federal primers. NICE soft shooting load cronographing at 850fs. It's clean and extremely accurate in both my 1911's!

Hi,
I think the "regular" SA 45 frames are made at the Imbel plant in Brazil and are still forged! Where are the American NM frames made at???

Thy are still forged in brazil but then milled in the USA. All the finish work is don't in the states, or so I'm told.

Nice, very nice, but in the future if takeing pics of a black gun use a lighter background. I have old and tired eyes. Dennis
