I have 9 (7-REM UMC, 2-W.R.A. Co) 40-82WCF factory loaded cartridges in fair shape. I am looking for a rough idea for what they are worth. If anyone is interested I would like to part with these heirlooms. The rifle is long gone and no sense in just having these sitting around. I know that new brass sells for a mint $10 a piece. Does anyone still shoot these?

Thanks for your input!

About 10 years ago I paid about $5 each for the two WRA CO 40-82"s that I have.

I bought a old 38-72 round from a fellow at our local gun show for $5. In looking over his stuff, $5 per cartridge seemed to be the price for most of the early 1886 and 1895 rounds, although I don't know for sure what he was charging for the 40-82 ones. I do know that 38-72 rounds are a lot rarer than 40-82 rounds, which was once quite common. As for new brass, Jamison (now owned by Captech) makes properly headstamped 40-82 brass and you can get it from Buffalo Arms for 1.89 each if 20 are ordered. They are temporarily back ordered but are taking orders.
