The 45 colt has to be my favorite caliber of my small collection of fire arms, I'll be ordering a gas check mold right after the holidays for a hunting load I want to work up using either H110 and or some 2400.

Ruger Flat Top 45 Colt and Rossi 45 colt lever???? Possibly the Lee 200 or 255 grain boolit sitting in those 45 Colt cases????

Looks familiar.

I have that very gun- flattop .45 on small frame with 5 1/2" bbl. from Lipsey's. After reaming the chambers to a consistent .452, it now shoots UNDER 1" groups at 50' (with the correct-fitting boolit) with regularity. Shot pretty well before that..... Now my favorite revolver of all time.

you don't need a gas check.
you can push a 452664 [250gr rnfp] along in the levergun enough.
i get 1650 from my 24" bbl'd 45 colts with 19.3 grs of 2400 and the 452664 using starline brass and either cci-30 or win lp primers.
same load in the 44 mag [cases/primers and powder amt.] with the 429447 gives the same results.

Here's a 16" M94, a sweet carbine even with the "safety":

Japchester M92 rifle, 24" round barrel. Much nicer figured wood then the Rossi, but the Rossi is still well fitted, and no complaints with it.

Looks a LOT like an old S&W "break-top" or given condition, maybe a repro version

Yes, it's a Beretta Laramie made by Uberti a few years ago.

Besides the 3 Uberti's (M73 and 2 SAAs) in 45 Colt I also have a Rossi M92 rifle with 24" barrel.

5661556616 This is what 19.5 grains of 2400 did with the Lee 452-300-rf at 55 yards. I took the only shot I had over heavy brush and cactus.

Tacklebury, I picked up one of those .45 Colt H&Rs a couple of years ago, fun little carbine. One of these days I'm going to take a rasp to the stocks and bring them into the contours of the metal, and make a brass endcap for the forend where it meets the receiver. I've heard rumor somebody makes a brass trigger guard replacement, do you have any info on that?

Moyer's gun parts makes brass rough cast trigger guards and forend spacers, but they are a lot of work to get finished and fit. You can find them sometimes on Ebay.

Toth Tool still has some steel forend spacers for $20 bucks which is a steal really.

I've been thinking pretty hard about trying my hand at doing a lost wax cast of one of the plastic ones and trying brass myself. Maybe someday. ;)

These are mine. I got the Rossi and NM Blackhawk so that I could shoot Cowboy matches. I got the Redhawk to have the ability to shoot low end Casull loads and then, there is the beautiful S&W 625 - 5 because it is so beautiful and to be my carry pistol.

With 45 Colts, it's like those chip's .................... you can't just have one :Fire:
