45 colt, 452-424 with a hybrid cup HP by Erik pushed to 1070 by 10 gr of unique. Deer was 30 yds, shot thru both shoulders, ran 35 yds and piled up.
Even though I saw it go down I always track my deer up just to check on the blood trail or lack of. This was very acceptable but I think most of it came out her nose.
I consider this typical performance for most slow moving heavy boolits.
I Usually only get bang flops when the nervous system is hit or a projectile is above 2800 fps and comes apart.
Although if you hunt long enough you can see anything happen.
This was opening weekend in MO for our alternative weapons hunt.

Talk about "Blowing off steam"! Congrats. Now all you need is a little red wine, flour, salt, pepper, garlic and onion!

Shooting, farming, and generally spending time outside are my antidotes for all the time I spend cooped up in the office. This time of year it is dark when I get home, which makes things a little rough. Glad you could get out and tag one!

Wolfer, that is a job well done. Congradulations on taking such a nice whitetail with a handgun. I have yet to do that, but I think it is in my future to give it a go! Glad you were able to unwind and get this little job done in such grand style.

Great shooting, and a great gun too. Love those things, and I bet your deer tastes even better because of how and with what it was taken. Congratulations!

Yep, had the inner loins with fried taters and white gravy for supper tonight. Forgot to make biscuits so I just used my camp method. Mix the taters and the meat together with a little gravy and put in a burrito. Dip the burrito in the gravy and eat it like it was good.

I don't think you can get this at applebys!

Good job, especially with a handgun. The meal sounds good, and you sure can't get it at any restaurant.

Cool! Was this this close to Springfield or Branson?
