Hello, I am new to the forum. Lots of good and useful information here. I don't know if this is the right place for my question but here goes. I ran into a young man who is looking for info on putting together paper tube loads for his Sharps replica. Anybody have any info on this procedure? This young man is 18 and into Civil War Reenacting. He would also like to be able to shoot his rifle with live ammo. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Pete

simple paper tube.
one end is tied on the boolit. usually in the bottom lube groove.
a pre charge of powder is inserted into the tube.
you tie the end shut with more string.
to use you tear the tied end off, pour in the powder, and seat the boolit home with the paper under the boolit.
a lubed hollow base mini-ball boolit is used.

Tell him to do a search for Charlie Hahn. He makes paper tubes that work very well. Or make them from nitrated paper, which is cheaper but more labor intensive and much more fragile.

The N-SSA and Shiloh forums are also good places to find info on these rifles. But there are a few folks here who shoot them too.
