Anyone have much experience with these? How much undersized do these things usually run?

As with anything Lyman, it depends on who was running things that day. I have at least 2 "U" molds I can remember, a "358" mold that casts .358" and a "429" mold that casts at .430", so neither are really undersize. Yours may quite likely be different, you never know till you cast some.

Lyman sharpend their mold cherries several times. When they got down to bare minimum, they would make a run of molds with the cherry before discarding it. These molds were marked U for undersized.

There is no way of telling what size the bullets will be as Lyman bullets specs were all over the map.

I have one 311467U that will throw bullets .309 and a regular version of the same mold that will throw bullets .312.

I have a 311291U that will throw bullets .310, a regular version that throws .313 and still another that throws .316.

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking at a U358315 on ebay and I don't know if I should take a chance on it.
