View Full Version : .223, CBs and assorted powders
These targets were shot with cast boolits WITHOUT gas checks.
I'd like to thank X101Airborne for providing the boolits for these tests.

Jim, is that a Lightweight, or a regular barreled rifle?
have you done anything to it, like they suggest on GBO? ie/O-ring?
I have one Lightweight, and I'm going to play with it this spring. one of the things I'll try also, is an Oring on the barrel, to tune it like a .22
I LOVE single shots
You're going to have to educate me on the O ring thing, I'm not familiar with that.

You're going to have to educate me on the O ring thing, I'm not familiar with that.
With the forearm off, observe the stud mounted in a dovetail on the barrel. Go to your local hardware/plumbers supply store and get a rubber o-ring 1/8 thick or slightly smaller that will snuggly fit over the the barrel stud . Reattach fore-end and you
have just floated your fore-end and just about can guarantee much better accuracy.
Interesting! Thank you, I'll look into that!

I just discovered that 11.2 gr of 5744 gets me a group under .9" at 40 yards with iron sights on a T/C carbine. I can't ask for better with my old eyes.
