500 JRH Issue

Hi all!!

I am new to the forum, but have been lurking around for a while now. I have been wanting to get a BFR in 500 JRH but, have run into a slight problem. Ammo. Everywhere I look, nothing. I have heard that Buffalo Bore and Grizzly Ammo sells for this round but when I go to their sites there is nothing there. I have no problem reloading, but need a source of brass. Is there a place to get brass or finished ammo other then from Jack because it looks like his web page is down. Any help would be greatly appreciated

As far as I know Jack is the soul provider of JRH 500 brass. He doesnt supply an email address that I know of and likes if you call. I just visited his web site and it is up and running. Here is his contact information:

No biggie not having JRH brass. Just buy some S&W 500 brass and spend a night with your case trimmer cutting it down. Suggest you join this forum as there are a lot of guys on there who know their stuff:

Yes, call Jack. You can also cut down .500 S&W brass but it is cheaper and easier to buy from Jack.
I am old, on SS and cheap as a wheel without grease. I made my own mold and the gun loves 440 gr boolits, PB too. The Lee C501-440-RF would be a good boolit but you need checks.
I size .501" with a Lee die. You will love the gun. I use 29.5 gr of 296 with a Fed 155 primer. (Do not use rifle primers.) Mine has broken 1/2" at 100 yards from a rest. I water drop WW boolits and use Felix lube. It costs me a dime a shot.
Of all the .500's, the JRH might be the very best.

Sounds good. It will be a while before I have any guns to sell anyway. These are hard to get.
