Hello, I am new here, and been looking and learning a lot from all the great information you have.

I am planning on casting for .45 acp already have 2 moulds

Lee 452-200 SWC in double cavity
Lee TL452-230 2R six cavities

I have access to Linotype and pure lead, no ww down here.

Manly for plinking

Can I use the lino or is it to hard for 45acp?

Thanks a lot for your help

stanley2 welcome!!!!!

1to1 lead/lino=about 15bhn ,you could try a little softer for plinking.

...........Welcome aboard Stanley2! No WW "Down Here". Where's "Down Here"? No one balances their pickup tires?

Buckshot down here is south of the border, they are too cheap and the tire shops re-use the WW.

Thanks for the warm welcoming.

Welcome to the forum Stanley2

GP100man has the obvious solution, mix the lino and WW in whatever proportions satisfies your needs. For 45 ACP, 3 to 1 should be about the same BHN as WW's and good castability.

Does any one have experience with cast boolits in Glock pistols?

Is there a recommended alloy that will not lead the barrel?

I been doing some alchemy and got the following:

Lead-----Lino-------tin%----Anti%-----lead%-----bhn------good for?
50%------50%------2----------6----------92----------??----------??
67%------33%------1.32------3.96------94.72------??----------??
75%------25%------1----------3----------96----------??----------??

Thanks a lot

Welcome stanley2, check out the wheelguns section of this forum for a good discussion of shooting lead in Glocks.

Stanley2,

Welcome aboard.

I don't know what shipping charges would be going south of the border, but there is always WW for auction on ebay.

I know I said the unthinkable, but buying pure lead and lino has got to be costly. Especially for short range shootng.
