I have a Lee sizer set and on the instructions for the Alox it says to put it on before sizing, but I thought you were'nt supposed to have lube under the GC. So what is the right way sinced I'll be putting on the GC when I size?

I have been using Lee ALox tumble lube on my gas check bullets for several years now. I cast the bullet, tumble lube in alox, then size and cgas check it, then tumble lube in alox again. It works just fine.

No need to relube them after sizing/seating.

The LLA forms a coating so there is no danger of the powder sticking when loaded fully dry, its the stick lube you don't want on the base of the bullets.

Thanks. Guess I have more rejects than I thought, had about a quarter of them that the GC fell right back off of.

Lap the gas check portion of the mold so they fit better. You don't want to lose checks when shooting. If some fell off, they are all too loose.

I've been avoiding tumble lubing with LLA prior to applying checks thinking having lube under checks was a bad thing. You're getting good accuracy that way, deadguy?

What I've found works well is soapy water to size the bullet and seat the check, rinse and dry, then tumble lube. Adds steps, though.

I've tested my 25-20 both ways and it appears to shoot well bicheckually, but then I admit to not sizing the bullitos. BvT
