business end now, I think this where I should put my casting and swaging Equiptment, I can put a vent a hood out the window when casting led, I need to plywood the walls and put something on the floor, this is one corner I will have to take pick's of the rest of the room.

I see a lot of blue in those Pic, how many people have ventilation when casting in the house. some of those rooms are as clutterd up as mine. I should say they have more stuff than room. off to work.

My biggest problem isn't the layout. It's grabbing something to use, then NEVER putting it back! :groner:

A clean reloading room is one that isn't used.

All I can say is, "Wow."

For me, just sweeping the floor in the small area where I reload is considered, "Remodeling."

I wish I had as much room as you do.

Shoot, my wife kindly allowed me to convert a hallway closet for my reloading room. 3ft. X 9ft. Two people can't get in it. But it's ALL mine, (for now)...

I would suggest some stackable plastic bins for a start. Great mancave there...

Consider painting walls white and using white peg board where desired. you seem to have lots more light than I do but still, the light colored walls will improve things. I had to get rid of fluorescent lighting so I could listen to Rush.

I would empty the room, paint the walls white, build an 8ft. long 2ft. wide bench down the center (accessible from both sides), and cabinets and shelves on the walls as well as under the bench. Positive ventilation to the outdoors (for when casting) and efficient heat/AC source. Squeeze in the most lighting you can manage.

Right, first things first. Men don't REMODEL their personal spaces! We refit or update the layout. :groner:

I just realized what you wrote I am a slow learner but I do catch up given enough time.
That is a good Idea I think I am going to draw up something to see how it would work. I could do the 5 shot gun presses on one side and have 5 reloading presses on the other on the other side. I will be back later.

I would arrange it in the same progression as the reloading process takes place. Start out with casting and lube equipment, Bullet storage,Reloading equipment and then completed ammo. That way you would minimize your movements. And if you go to look for something it should be in a smaller location. As an example You would not need to look around the loaded ammo for a set of dies.
You may want to buy ammo cans to store ammo in . They are sealed and should preserve it longer.

I'm a fan of keeping casting and reloading activities separate. Casting occurs out in the barn/shop. Reloading happens in the office/ gun room.

OH MY! If I were there I'd pick you up in my truck and head to HOME DEPOT.
Sheet rock the walls for starters. In Door Out Door carpet on the floor or running vinyl.

Not sure, but the pipes near the ceiling in pics 3 & 4 appear to be wrapped in the old asbestos insulation. I would definately encapsulate them while doing the remodel.

When my daughter grew up and moved away,I took her bedroom. It has 2 closets, one a walk in.Built my loading/tinkering bench so it fits a corner.Added shelving to the wall above the bench.I built these so that if one day I loose my room, then the shelves can still look good and be used by whoever has the room. The bench can be easily disassembled and removed.I would post pics, but I have been having issues with that.(see 44 mag thread).

Time to clean and and put stuff away. If one will take the time to put away the things from one project before starting another.... there is more room than realised.

This house has close to 100yrs of everything that entered its doors stored in the attic or basement, It has taken me 10yrs to get it to the way it is now. It is not fun throwinging away everything you remember growing up with but a lot of it has to go, for progress.

Nice job Randy, that is definitely 10lbs of "stuff" in a five pound package!

I hope the florescent over head isn't the cheap solid state ones..the buzzing
will drive you crazy.

Randy ,your reloading room just looks GREAT ! Everything is on the shelf and its neat. I wish I could see the top of my bench. Any of you guys can see the top of your bench? I built a second bench and now that is overflowing. I guess I need to remodel also.
