Lighting the .45-70 candle...

After reviewing a half-dozen iPhone videos, I noticed interesting patterns in the muzzle flash. The two pix below were screen-captured from the *.mov videos and edited in photoshop by increasing the brightness 5% and the contrast 5%. More severe editing shows more detail to the flash anatomy, but not included here. Visually, we can't see the flash at all, save for a small amount at the muzzle. The load is Swiss 1.5Fg under a 300gr LRNFP.

Boy, lemme tell`ya about 50° and froggy all day here in NoVA.

The whole end of the sight picture/barrel disappeared each time
in the expanding ball of Swiss 1½.
