thebigmac,

In general, Marlin 336 models have a letter designation that denotes the features of a particular variation within the 336 series of rifles and carbines.

The 336 RC is the regular carbine, pistol grip, carbine fore stock and barrel bands, twenty inch barrel, and full length magazine.

The 336 SC is the sporting carbine, pistol grip, rifle fore stock and nose cap, twenty inch barrel, and 3/4 magazine.

The 336 A is the rifle, pistol grip, rifle fore stock and nose cap, twenty-four inch barrel, and 3/4 magazine.

The 336 T are straight stocked versions of the 336.

Note that many of the models are not stamped with the letter designations.

PB

Phineas Bluster; I THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT INFORMATION.
I'M GETTING MORE & MORE INFORMATION ON THIS. I RECENTLY
PURCHASED THIS RIFLE FROM ANOTHER MEMBER HERE. SEEKING

Take a look at this site. It has more. Some of it is a bit confusing since some of the specs were different depending upon the year of manufacture.
