Green Mountain are selling 41 cal 15" 1-in-20 twist pistol barrel for $80. I'm thinking of getting one and fitting it to a 303 chamber to form a 41/303 carbine. It would have a suppressor to bring the overall gun length to legal specs.
The question is, what cast boolit weight would a 1-in-20 barrel stabilize and what effective velocity should be expected? The 41/303 would have a 1.77" case so case capacity would be quite substantial. This would be for my pig gun project which currently has a rusted 303 bore and can only shoot paper patched boolits which would still be on the cards but I wan't to be able to do both.
