Quotes from story:

Two people wanted in connection with the attempted sale for scrap in Queen Anne's County of metal grave markers from veterans' graves in Delaware have been located and served with charging documents.

.....to sell between 60 and 70 American Legion and VFW grave markers.....

.....paid $98 for the markers and was told it was the fifth time since September that Benson and Guest had sold similar markers......

About 25 veterans' grave markers also were recovered......

Just goes to show you that, "Welfare" doesn't pay well enough for them to buy smokes, beer and dope, so they have to supplement.

Unfortunately, all they will get is a few days in the local jail.

It's hard not to be cynical about this sort of situation.

Seems that your laws need something added about public flogging!
That or 6 months of bootcamp.

Seems to me the dealer should be charged, this was the 5th time since Sept. If there is no market the thefts stop.

Actually the state of Delaware, Where the thefts happened, was the last state to use whipping as a punishment. The last whipping occurred in 1952 and the punishment was removed from criminal code in 1972. Here is a link with pictures:

I wonder how many of those grave markers they can swim with? We should conduct a deep water swim test.

How about we make a CONCRETE cast of the markers, put the markers back where they belong then tie the cast around their necks and DEEP SIX the culprits?

I believe that was the original purpose of tar and feathers. It is unfortunate that some of the 'Boston' crew got their tar too hot.

As far as I'm concerned the scrap dealer is culpable in this, big time!
