Hey guys. I'm considering the purchase of a Lyman or RCBS loob sizer at some point. I have been buying 60/40 in blocks for pan loobing. It works great and is cheap. I was wondering if there is a way I could make it work in a loob sizer machine? I was thinking if I heated it until it was soft but not liquid and then mashed it down into the machine under the plunger it would work? If not, are there any molds out there for making my own loob sticks? Thanks!

You can just melt the lube and pour it into the lubrisizer. Many of us do it this way.

Yeah, just melt & pour in. This also avoids air pocket farts that will occur if you just shove chunks of lube in the resevoir. Melt & pour - carefully. enjoy Mike

Just remember to let that lube get cold before trying to use it ...

and have a sizing die in the luber when you make the pour.

Thanks. Knowing me I would do both of those things the first time I used it.:veryconfu

it would have increased your knowledge base by 100 err 200% right off the bat.
you can make lube molds from pvc pipe some dowells, washers, and a block of wood if you want pretty.

+ 1 on the melt and pour. I found that a good pour spout makes for less mess.

Melt and pour, remember to leave room at the top for the piston! Also, let it cool in the sizer for a few minutes and then give it a "touch up" as it will shrink and leave a huge, tubular air void between the walls and the threaded rod. Doing this is doubly effective at preventing the "air farts" previously described.

Theres a sticky on here on how to make a lube stick jig.
Ben has a video and a thread on a lube pourer thingy (cant think of the words!!) he made.

What I use is a pyrex measuring cup, put my hotplate on low and slowly heat up my Bens Red I have in it, then pour in my reservoir.

For whatever is it worth.........I gave up on the idea of the " lube pourer thingy."
For me , right now, the soup can about 3/4 ths full of lube works so, so, so easy.

See video in # 11 above.
It won't get any easier than this !

Thanks. I'm working on a trade for a Lyman 4500 so hopefully I can try it out soon.
