Just got a Midsouth flyer and they have casting thermometers for 22.50. Its up to 1000degree with a clip. In case anyone needs one.

Here's an oddball question, would the therm that comes as part of a turkey frier package work? Assuming it goes to 800 degrees, that is.

My Lyman reads nearly 100 degrees off from the two digitals that I have. It's all relative though. Find the temp that the mold likes and use it. If it say 650 on the Lyman but it's really 750, the mold doesn't care :)

I Purchased one from RotoMetals. Have not noticed the manufacturer, but it runs spot on with my PID probe. I did with out such goodies for many years, but LIFE is good.

Have any of you attached the clip-on to the inner surface of the lift bracket of a Lee Pro 20?

HMMMM.....I read this a few months too late. I ordered mine from Midway for about $40.
