Gas check thickness question

I found a butt load of aluminum sheets that measure 6"x6" . They measure .026 Can his me used for gas checks?

im only using cans for homemade checks .004-.006 thick for plain base.
im sure some of our more check savvy will give you the good info.

.026 is way too heavy for most applications. Most folk are using about 1/2 that thickness.
