Here is a look at the new 45 cal bullet that is possible from my custom designed BTSniper 45 cal swage die set.

My goal was a bullet with a smaller meplat @ .250 and a more rounded ogive profile that will prove to be more reliable feeding in a semi auto, which most of you shooting 45ACP should be looking for.

Here is my newly designed bullet on the left with a bullet made in the CH-4d on the right.

These newly designed 45 cal dies are available for order.

Not sure if I am the FIRST one to receive the new design, but they are amazing, and feed perfectly in any 45 acp gun.

Nice work, Brian!

that's the same profile a 124 gr speer h-point has in the 9m.
they are 100% Reliable feeders in every 9 i have tried them in.
i'd bet they really feed slick through a 45 colt levergun too.

This new die of mine should be a pretty common profile for the 45. I think if you where to chop the end off a standard "ball" round to give you a .250 meplate it should be nearly the same as I understand it. My die has an eliptical nose ogive and I uderstand the ball round should have teh exact same profile.

Yes I agree it should feed perfect and probably have some awesome terminal performance too.

what brass do you use to make it?
40S&W?

Yeap, 40 S&W works best and is cheap.

My shooting club has a very extensive set of shooting ranges specifically designated for law enforcement (local police departments and gov't agencies) to practice on. It's amazing how many of them are shooting .40 S&W as duty weapons. And, I'm finding lots of empties on the ground. They start off practice with their duty ammo, which is nickle plated (not good for swaging), and then switch over to brass for the rest of the practice. It's a gold mine for .40 S&W brass.

The rest of the agencies are shooting .45 acp, which I will use some of (the NT small primer stuff) for swaging into .500 S&W Magnums.
