Hi team.

Ducked out to the range in my lunch break. Shot the Husky for the first time.

Started with a 3 groove Lee RN PB boolit over 6 and 7gr of Nobels 78 (close to Red Dot). They shot pretty average, 2-3 inches at 50m. I didn't expand the necks and the .312 boolits may have been squeezed on the PB.

The second boolit was my Lyman 311466 flat nose conversion with a 2 ply alum gas check sized .312 inch. Not a bad start of fairly coarse open sights I think.

I will shoot both again soon and also a 205gr boolit similar to the 314299.

Jeff,

Looks like you are off to a good start. Keep us up to date on your progress with your new rifle.

Well, my theory about the tight case neck squishing the PB boolits was right. Last evening I loaded the Lee PB again over the same charge of 6gr of Nobels 78 after running the case neck over a .311 expander. Today I fired 4 shots, the first of which landed a spot low (usual I find after a powder change) and the next three were inside an inch at 50m.

Tested the 311466FN load of 14gr 2400 again and similar result to yesterday. VERY respectable group. Also shot my CBE 313 215 205gr projectile over 14 and 15gr of 2400 however it shows signs of yawing so will not bother again.

More velocity and it might stabilize and " smooth out."

No and the info on them is sparse. I might have do the old tight patch ramrod trick. I suspect 1 - 12 but one can never be sure. It's really not a problem as the 177gr FN shoots great.

Jeff I am in on the group buy for the 311365 cast spitzer boolit. It will be the first one i try when my mold and M35 arrives. havent decided on a loading for it but i am thinking about it. Some one posted a picture a while back of pointy 30-30s and they are odd looking but i think they may work well.
