View Full Version : Found a strange one at the gun show. Pre 64 94 in 444.

Pre 64 Winchester 94 re barreled to 444. The barrel had a solid rib with a matte top. It was marked Krup Steel. Pretty neat looking rifle.

I am sure I have read somewhere That the 444 is a reasonably popular calibre in drillings and double rifles in Europe. It is dubbed with it's metric name there though. But yours is obviously stamped 444. Nice find, well done.

I didnt buy it. He wanted $850 for it. This is actually the second show I have seen it at.

This one had the metric stampings on it. I just don't remember what they were.

I read an article about a guy that used to convert 94's to 444 years ago. He was from Arizona.

That would be 11,2x57, if I´m not misinformed.
