Went to a gun show today and bought a couple of tubes of this stuff to try it out. I do have a heater on my Lyman 450, but I almost exclusively use soft NRA formula lube anymore.

Is this Tamarack good stuff? Been thinking about going bacl to some hard lubes for reasons of long term bullet storage.

I also found a ten pound block at a gun show, haven't used any yet so can't really respond. The toolman.

It is 50%beeswax and 50% alox 2138F
At one time was rated the best in the world. Keep in mind the beeswax may have lost all of it's moisture and the alox could be as dry as popcorn.

I didn’t realize that beeswax could lose its moisture. Anything that can be done to prevent this and restore it?

Just re heat it and it will help some..try to just warm it up below the melt temp.......Or add a little fresh beeswax and a little of the new XLOX - from Lar45= White label lubes....... All beeswax has a small % of moisture in it. Keeping any lube sealed air tight will give you many many years of storage

That is another reason when you buy lube (TAC#1) or beeswax from me I always add a little extra to compensate for some shrink.

Tamarack is excellent lube. 50/50 bees wax / alox. I have used several cases of it over the years and consider it my default soft lube, Zambini for hard. When all else fails get out the Tamarack.Still have a case left on the shelf.
I have one client who absolutely insists on Tamarack for all his Bullseye boolits.

These are still in the sealed up tubes, so I presume they are good. I'll give it a try when I empty out the sizer next.

I dried some LLA and made 50/50 with it - had to soften it with some bullplate.
