buckshot: stacked or not?

At what point can you just pour pellets into wads, verses stacking. I assume #4 buck is not stacked, but wondered how much larger in diameter one could go without having to stack.

rule of thumb I use is ''if it is buck shot it gets stacked''
if ya don't you will get inconsistent patterns and crimping issues
# 4 bird shot is tough to run threw the press to meter amounts
