I need some help in developing 12ga 1 1/8 oz loads in brass shotgun shells for a damascus barreled double barrel shotgun. I have the brass shells but need some wads for them and how much black powder or substitute to use and be safe. The gun is in good condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to try posting this in the shotgun section instead of the sale/swap section, but to get the ball rolling for you, you're going to need fiber or cork wads that are a tight fit (and the right height for the column, it's a "try it and see what you need" thing, like 1 half inch and an 1/8 inch wad set at 40 pounds pressure). I have an old data list around here *somewhere*, but I believe that for a 12ga 1 1/8 load it was listed somewhere @ 70gr (by volume.)

This might help get you going:

There is some info on brass cartridges too.

I use the Lee adjustable dipper (you can make your own though) and set it for 1 1/8 oz. I use the same dipper for shot and powder - this is called a square load, it should be a light and safe load for your use. I'm assuming you're using Magtech brass shells - if so, you'll need 11 ga. nitro cards and 11 ga. fiber cushion wads and 10 ga. overshot cards. You'll also need something to seal the overshot card - waterglass (it used to be used to seal eggs), duco cement or clear silicone caulking can be used. You'll need some compression, you can use a piece of wooden dowel or round off the head of a bolt and chuck it up in your drill press and use that. It's a simple process and there are some pretty entertaining youtube videos. Here's one you might get a kick out of;
