If a load in one barrel squibs, will the slide still function? If it does, the shooter is likely to not know it, especially if you're dumping it. Next shot will be real bad.

Pretty silly, if you ask me.

Bill I agree. That makes no sense what so ever to me.

Seem to recall seeing something about this joke earlier this year here on this site. I thought it to be a waste of money then and still do.Robert

This makes me want to ask "and WHAT will they think of next???"

I think they should leave that one in the comic books but to each their own. Of course after production stops it will probably be a sought after collectors item lol. FB

The first problem would be turning both barrell bushings to field strip it.

One presumes they built it so you turn one one way, the other the other way -- else they'd never have gotten it together at the factory.

I'd rather have one 1911 in each hand.

I think they should have bob-tailed it to make it easier to conceal.

It`ll probably be the "Official" sidearm of "DUCK DODGERS from the 23rd and 1/2 Century"!Robert

An answer without a question.

Or as I like to call a lot of things these days: a solution to a problem that does not exist. Kind of like twitter.

Although.... A handgun 410 side by side break action sounds cool... And the precedent is the Taurus judge...

Everyone should have atleast one unusual gun in their collection.

There indeed is a solution in search of a problem.

No reason this couldn't be done, IF the barrels are rifled and it's originally built as a handgun. Mind you, an over-under .410/.45 Colt Derringer would be a lot more practical to carry -- but would lack the cool factor of an external hammer beavertail on a one-hand grip.

I saw this pic a couple years ago, thought it was a silly joke and still do. The 1911 was, and still is one of if not the finest sidearm ever made, which is more than I can say of that piece.

You couldn't give me one. It's like your momma used to say, "wear clean underwear every day, cuz if you don't you might die and then someone will find out." That's how it is with this gun. If you had one and tried to sneak it to the range, you would crash your car and die, then everyone would find out you had it with you. It would probably be in the newspaper. Nope, not me.

OUCH...that's harsh! It's also very true! Been shooting .45ACP since 1968 and have supreme confidence that one 230 grain slug could end virtually close encounter dispute. I'm not sure why this monster pistol even exists. One shot should end any issue.

The other side of the twin .45 story makes me wonder about weight. My 1911 weighs 39 ounces. Double that then add two full magazines and you've made a problem! What would you do, put little wheels on it?

I called John Browning last night. He said what, and turned over in his grave.
