All of a sudden any attempt to get into any website with shooting related description is diverted to some unrelated webite. What gives? Anyone else experiencing this?

Are you searching within Google? I have seen this behavior before.

I just googled cast boolit and this site came up first. I just googled guns and it brought up a page of gun sites. No problems from here.

Tom, what sort of Internet connection are you on? Some company connections and some public wifi connections block sites and searches relating to guns, etc. If I try to look up anything about guns, martial arts, etc. on a work computer, I get redirected to a page telling me I'm not allowed to see sites about guns, violence, etc. the sad part about that is that I'm a police officer and they use a nanny filter to block us from things that pertain to the job.

I just tried Google for cast bullet & silhouette. 138,000 results, this site came up first and my site - lasc.us came up third.

Not seeing a problem.

Sounds like you've got a trojan or some malware.

I've got something similar on my work PC as well; waiting for the IT guru to come and remove.

Quite a few companies and even some WIFI sites use firewalls that block certain sites or subject matter. It's a choice they make since it's their web portal.

Check browser search level (not security level).

Google shopping quit finding guns a while back, at least for me, now I use slick guns.

I am a psychologist and our company server was blocking firearms sites and sex sites. Since I do research on violent criminals and we have a specialist in child sex abusers both of these were removed from the block several years ago. In many cases all you have to do is ask with a good reason.

I had the same problem a few months ago. It turned out to be the Google redirect virus. Wound up restoring from a backup that was only a week old and haven't had a problem since.

Norton is a virus. I strongly suggest you find a removal tool online, and download a safe virus scan.

Well, that fix didn't last long. About two or three searches and problem is back!

Don't use Google. Don't EVER use Google.

I saw this site-access limitation at my daughter's house, and it wasn't just gun-related sites. Many conservative news sites were also unavailable without using a workaround. She's unaware enough to use an AOL-affiliated ISP. I had to hand-punch www.ask.com and search from there. I also use www.Ixquick.com a lot.

Run Firefox. Run "Google Sharing", "Ghostery", and "Adblock". Give up as little as possible to Google. Their alleged slogan "Don't Be Evil" is a sidesplitting joke.

Same here and the kicker is I was an arsenal Sgt. Finally got my access unrestricted after about 3 1/2 years in the job just in time for me to take a new position.

Sounds like a redirecting piece of malware on your browser.

It now looks as though I have it conquered. I had to go to my anti virus, Norrton, and download a cleaner utility they had available for free. I ran this and it got rid of the demon. Thanks everyone for your input and help. These computers are great things when they run right, and when they don't - Grrrrrrr!
