The octogon barrells will sometimes bring a premium from collectors if in very good to excellent condition. They are not much fun to shoot though of course you may know that. Full house loads will kick like a mule.

Those old octagon barrels will bring good money from time to time with some worth upwards of $500 if in good shape. The nice thing about the Contender barrels like yours is that you don't have to shoot a full house load to get full house revolver velocities. As a rule you can add 200 fps to the velocity of a Blackhawk revolver with the same load.
