I wonder if this shot the first Thanksgiving turkey?

This .50-caliber wheellock musket, propularly known as the Mayflower Gun, is thought to be the only surviving firearm among those that crossed the Atlantic with the Pilgrims.

Sadly, there probably was no turkey at the first Thanksgiving, but there was boiled swan, cornbread, venison, and other waterfowl. Sadly there was no pie, the Pilgrims we almost out of sugar. No pie! One more time, NO PIE! No turkey, no cranberries, and no pie, it's a miracle the holiday survived.

The weapon is priceless. Boiled swan sounds yucky! Thought it was Lincoln who made Thanksgiving a holliday, and the pilgrim deal was a tradition-----or am I wrong?

The weapon is unique, it is the only known sample from the Pilgrims, so I'd say priceless for real. Don't know about boiled swan but if the bird is oily it might be improved by rendering out the fat. Boiling is a good way to do a turkey, BTW, moist and tender, great for sandwiches, casseroles, etc.
