What size should the top punch/removal punch be in a .224 swaging die. I may have went to big on the nose form die I made. I'm getting closer all the time in getting this die to work. I have plenty of goof-ups though.

To the new guys:

Be aware that if you try to HIT the top punch (eject punch) with a hammer or mallet, you will surely DRIVE the pin into or through the nose of the bullet. And, that will get things very STUCK.

Using one of BT Snipers Universal Eject Devices is what cures the issues with the small diameter pin.

I have made a few .224 dies with ejection pins from .078 to .060 and if you try to use a mallet to drive them out, forget it you will drive them thru, yes you will get a few out but that's a few use some type of ejection system, I'm using BT'S but there are other one out there. It will make all the differance in the world, try it you'll like it.

You don't change the pin, you do away with the mallet, and it provides a smooth transition in pushing out the boolit instead of a shock force.

ANd, BT Sniper is the guy to see to get one, looks like the picture he posted. Has a built in ejection pin on the top bar.

SSSSSSwwwwweeeettt!!!!! Now I get the picture. You are right, Beating sends that punch straight into the boolit. Don't want hollow points. Thanks Fellas
