What do you guys think of the Lee mold for the Brit 303? I am just getting started casting my own and I haven't had so much fun in a long time. Can't wait to take my first critter with one of my own homemade boolits. I am casting for 45 LC - 325 gr, 45 Super - 228 gr and soon to be completed 303 Brit sporter "Scout Rifle" I am building it now and will be doing a Dura-coat camo finish when completed. My funds are limited and I am using all Lee stuff now (10#IV pot ,molds etc.) Would be interested in opinions on the Lee 185 gr mold? Can I accieve aprox. 2200 Fps and not lead the barrel? What gas check would be recomended? I assume 308 GC and not the 8mm. I have both Lee and a Lyman lube/sizers available if needed. What does this mold cast at with WW? Answers to any and all these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - F50

Whats that 303 bore measure out at? My 312-185 drops right at .312 with WW I was hoping for a wee bit bigger ,I had to beagle it to make it fit my particular rifle

RU shooter - Don't know as all the stuff is in the mail including the rifle. I just got on line and bought 3 molds from Lee Percision - C312-155, CTL312-160 and C312-185 they were on Closeout for $14 each with shipping total was $46 I should find one that will work. This is a fun project to take some time up as I am currently taking rad. treatments for the big C and still working as Judge. This really takes my mind off things. My 452-228- mold drops at .454 and I size to .452 for the 45 Super. If these molds drop at .314 I'll be happy.

I mainly shoot 303's and have had two of those molds and couldn't get either to shoot. Both were to small on the nose( .295) but the 7.62x39 ones both shot very well, and there what I would recommend. After re-reading your post you could try bumping up the nose in the sizer, that would work. Pat

The 303B works GREAT in my Krag. It does not shoot well in my .303 British. The bore riding section is only 0.300". The base is bigger though. I use them "as cast" at 0.314".
