I have a double cavity 429241 mould that the set screw jumped out and left the building.

Could someone tell me what size that would be and the best place to get one?

Thanks

It is an 8x32 and about an eigth of an inch long. Most hardware/home improvement stores will have 'em. One of the few screws Lyman uses that is a standard screw.

I don't mean to be contrary but it is a #10-32 not a #8-32. If it is an early mold it is a non-standard #10-36. Send me an e-mail and I'll mail you some. Erik

Yep, 10-32 and while you're there, pick up a couple of 8-32 CSH screws as long as your screws attaching the handles to the mould. They work well and eventually you'll lose one of them or booger up the threads on one and you'll have spares on hand./beagle

Oh! Thanks for catching my stupid mistake boys. They are right, 10x32x.125"

hiram,

That's 'cause your is really old. From what I can tell, the first exchangeable mould blocks had a 10x36 headed screw. I've got a few of them myself. Boy, try to find one of those little puppies! You'd have to make 'em.

I'll be making a run of 10-36 sprue pivot screws for the early Ideal molds in the next couple of weeks, if folks want some old style headed lock screws I could make those also. Erik

Erik,

I would imagine it would all depend on price. What are going to charge for both screws?

I want some sprue plate screws for sure.

I'm thinking about $5 for the pair, it will be a pretty low production run. Erik

For $2.50 each, you bet. I'll take 10. How do I order?

Thanks to all for the info and help.

I have to give EKO aka Erik aka http://hollowpointmold.com/ much thanks. He sent me what I needed. He has a pretty cool website and provides unique services and products.

He didn't have to do what he did.
