Hope you all can help. My cousin has a very old Remington 760 pump in caliber .300 Savage he inherited it from his father. This rifle has not been made in this caliber for many, many years. He would like another magazine for it, but the chances of finding an original .300 Savage magazine would be next to impossible. Do you think a .308 Winchester magazine would work? The cartridges are similar in length.

Check out GunBroker.com http://www.gunbroker.com, I see Remington 760 .300 Savage box magazines on there all the time. I too have a Remington 760 in .300 Savage that was my grandfather's before he died. It is a great rifle and has felled many a dear and elk.

Thank you Darkroommike! I looked on their site earlier, but only saw the extended 10 rounders. No Taliban deer around these parts

patrick, the 308-243 clip will work fine. Some of the new ones with the plastic bottoms need a little help to snap in place but they will work when adjusted if needed. I always try to stay with the older all metal clips for mine which is a early 35 rem . (back east a little mennonite kid sprayed the mountain near me with about 8 rounds. I went over to him and his deer and noticed the big clip . Made me grin!)
