I have had good luck with Checkmate mags in .38 Super, 9mm, and 10mm. All are used in Kimber 1911-type pistols. They load a little smoother than the original Kimber mags. All function fine, as do the original Kimber mags.

My Springfield GI came with a parts list, limited time offer, I could order extra Springfield mags for $10 each. Rumor was the magazines were Springfield branded Mec-Gar. Couldn't hurt to look, I'm sure the mags would work great if available.

If the OEM magazines work I would stick with Springfield's. Springfield started using a spacer in the rear of their 9mm magazines to move the release point of the 9mm brass forward since the round is a little shorter than the .38 super. Other manufacturers do not have that feature.
The feed ramp of 9mm and .38 Supers have a different feed ramp than the .45 ACP.
Another manufacturer that I have used in .45 ACP and .38 Super with the 1911 platform is Metalform. Usually they are less expensive than others.
