Body "lead" is actually solder. I don't remember what the composition is but has a wide temperature range where it is "mushy". That allows it to be kept soft and moved into place with wooden paddles lubricated with tallow. I'm thinking it is somewhere around 40/60 tin/lead. I'll do a little research and post a followup as my memory just isn't clicking in very good right now.

more like 20/80 maybe 30/70.
there were some different grades but the tin was fairly low percentage,
to keep it in the state it would flow around without going hot enough to warp the metal being worked on.

Good thing I checked. Info here; http://www.eastwood.com/body-soldering-sticks-10-pack.html I can't make a link work, first snag I have hit with the new software here, so you may have to cut-and-paste. Body solder is 30/70 tin/lead. I got fairly good at paddling lead 35 or so years ago. Still have my paddles and tallow block as well as a couple files and maybe even a little solder tucked away "somewhere".

Free tin, the alloy Gods smiled on you. Do your research on alloy mixtures / tin %. I would take him for burger and a shake. Gtek

30/70 is very rich in Sn/Tin I wouldn't waste it using it 100%. 1/4 to 1/2 lb of it in 10 lbs of WWs and you have some nice alloy that has very nice fill out.

so should I use it the way it is or mix with my WW lead or not bother with it?

Impossible to give you an accurate answer to that because we don't know what your shooting. Black powder? High end loads in a 22-250?

just use it for the tin the extra lead won't hurt your ww alloy any.
3/4 of a lb [of the stick] to a 20 lb pot would be close nuff to 1% tin addition for me.
