What's a Belgium Hi Power worth?

I have an opportunity to buy a like new one, made in Belgium, probably in the 60's.

Any idea what it is worth?

I would say $100 more than the list price of the current new model.

I wouldn't take that for it if I had it.

That was a seriously fine firearm.

I would give a grand for one in fine condition. Those were some kinda slick handguns.

I just picked up a nice condition surplus Fabrique National (made in Belgium) Hi-Power here in California (where handguns tend to be a bit more expensive) for $600 + tax. It is used surplus, but in very nice condition with what looks like a brand new barrel (shiny and clean). Made in 1977 approx based on the serial #.

I see nice commercial (Browning) Hi-Powers for sale here in the $850 region, shiny blue with adjustable sights.
