Is there a tool that will just crimp(?) a shotgun shell?????
The re-fold after reloading.
I'm looking for something that might mount on a single stage press.
Something cheap for 12GA.

I have one of the old reloading shotgun books and its either RCBS or CH4D makes a fold crimp die. It will be cheaper to buy a used MEC to do fold crimps. If you had a cordless drill or mini press Ballistic Products will sell you a rolling crimp die for around 10.00 but not what your wanting. I have to search for that book that tells me who does a fold crimp die. It's been a couple of years.

Take care,

Lee made the little hand held crimp starters or you can buy a replacement one for a mec. Then you would have to figure out a way to finish it. You can buy a Lee load all for around $40 then you would have a complete set up with all the bushings or just use it to crimp. The Lee would probably be the best bet. FB

The best and cheapest way is to look on the different forums that have loading equipment for sale and buy a used MEC.
A 12 ga die will cost you $75 or more and you may purchase a used 600 JR for that on Flea- Bay.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I've been watching ebay and other auction sites.
Haven't found anything cheap yet.
I really only need to do the crimp. Not planing to reload.
I checked out The roll crimp at Balistic Products. They sell for $38.95.
More than I want to spend.
I've got a 28GA Mec. I'll post it for trade in the "for sale".
