should just get set of lee dies? Right one is expander only/no thru powder. Middle one is sest w/no crimp. Left one is sizer/decap. How old are these? What r they worth?

The year of manufacture is a two digit number on top of the die body.

You only benefit from a 'powder through' die if you're loading on a progressive with a mounted powder measure.

They are used dies, worth about $20 if the sizer is carbide, half that if it's not carbide.

I bet the seating die is also a crimp die. I assume these are 45ACP. I have a set that looks like yours and they date to 1982. My set came with a seating/roll crimp die.

thanks, these are 1987, ill check for crimp. I need a powder thru die i guess. A novice, (buy lee pieces to go with seat and sizer?) i am trying to figure out how to set up and salvage these dies. The size die it tight and has no bevel on bottom for brass to enter. Having fun. yep i am!

Are you using a progressive? If not, all you need is a taper crimp die and an expander die and you are good to go. If you are using a progressive you will need the powder through expander die. Yes, as long as you are using boolits, you need an expander die. Lyman M or RCBS both work. The Lee dies only bell the top of the case, they do not expand the case down the length of the boolit.

It all depends on the press being used. You may use a single stage and add your powder with the measure set up to the side of the press on it's own stand. You add your powder and then put case in cartridge holder.
The RCBS dies will have a better fit than most Lee dies.
If you press is set up correctly then the RCBS dies will work as intended.

will stock lee 45acp expander die dump powder with exp. taken out? With that and taper crimp die i would have 5 stations running. I dont wanta waist you guys time too much, cause i might just buy lee 3 die carbide set. I have a mrbulletfeed that takes up one hole. Dang, that thing works good! With the lead 45's, iam gonna load a tube up to raffter with lil' step ladder. I like working with tricks, tips, and experimental stuff, at machine shop.
