My Lyman #47 shows an OAL for the 300 Savage with a 169g Lyman Cast Bullet (#311291) at 2.358"
That's as close as it comes with your request for a 155g.

With a 113g (311359) OAL 2.280"
And with a 178g (311467) OAL 2.525"
My book also shows a maximum OAL at 2.600"

And I found this referance (http://www.ballisticstudies.com/Knowledgebase/.300+Savage.html) <CLICK THERE<

"need help with coal for 300 Savage with 155gr lead RFN boolit."

Find what your rifle needs to feed and chamber well and use it. Book OAL is just what the book makers used that functioned properly in their test rifle, it's not a law.
