RCBS 45-300-SWC in 454 Casull.

You guys have a load for this mold in the 454 Casull? I am only looking for about 1200 fps from a 4.75" barrel. Just want to hear you guys favorite loads for this bullet. Thanks.

Decent design and I had good success with it. I remember working with Blue Dot and 2400 quite a bit. IIRC 15 grains of BD and 20 to 21 grains of 2400 will get you around 1200 fps. You could also go with around 20 to 21 grains of #9 or run 22 to 23 grains of IMR/H4227. My best groups were with 2400 and IMR4227. I never worked H110 at 1200 fps with this design.

My results are with a 7.5" barrel though so you may need to be on the top side of the powder charges I posted above or maybe a half a grain or so more.

I use 22gr of H110/W296 with a 300gr boolit in my NMBH in 45 Colt, should give you about the velocity you are looking for in that length barrel.

That bullet shot the best of any from my Encore, but it was pushing almost 1800 fps with a stout load of Lil' Gun and a 12 inch barrel... It got to be too much for me.. Wish I had another .480, but that will never happen again, I'm sure....

my best load for a 300 gr boolit is 27.5 gr of H110
