A question for lloyd smale

I noticed that you are a lineman. Have you ever thought about using the lead that is used as the threads on poletop and arm pins as boolit alloy.I have been tossing the idea around for a while. By the way do you work for AEP.

We throw those old j shaped pins away by the hundreds. Ive thought of it but the lead is only a coating on them and i guess i figured that it would take so many of them and the labor involed in getting it off the pin and then disposing of the steel would just be alot more pain then its worth. Then a guy has to have a good use for pure lead as thats what it is and you have to keep in mind that the rest of the pin is galvanized steal and breathing that crap when your melting it down is a real no no.

Galvanized = zinc! Not good.......Probly wouldn'y cast anyway. Stick to cable sheathing!
