I gather it is for 7mm bores and has a nominal weight of 130 gr and is gas check design with lits of lube grooves. What do they actually measure diameter wise? How far down can you size them? Are they a good boolit?

Interested in replies to this myself, I have a six cavity of these but haven't got round to using it yet. As it is a Lee I am approaching it with usual trepidation at the grief it will give to get it casting the odd good boolit or two.

I got the mould for using its boolits in a Boer Mauser for plinking and indoor use.

It does look like we will find out for ourselves about this boolit. I have bought the mold also from an ebay auction and it is on the way to me. I want to try it without gas checks and see how it works. I just hope it will be a fat enough boolit for my rifle.

I picked one up this summer for a 7tcu. The boolits drop @ .287-288" with ww lead. How does it shoot? Hard to say as my Contender has a crooked chamber.

My LIMTED experience with the 7 mm "Soup Can" has been that the standard Lee offering in 130 Gr. #90360 has shot better. Bud

From a 4 year old thread on the matter.

How large do they cast in wheelweight metal? I need a boolit that casts at .288 for a 1908 Brazilian Mauser...Ray

they weigh 134.5 grains in ACWW alloy, measure .2832" on the nose and .2874" on the body bands. They also are rather concentric, only being .001" or less OOR. This mould has not been leemented, so polishing the cavities might get you the .288

Just wanted to share a success story. The stars aligned yesterday with my .280 remington. I have wanted to cast for some time for my rifles. Midsouth had a soupcan 130 on sale for $18 last week. I figured what the heck. Cast at 132 grains acww hornady checks felix lube sized .285 they make a neat looking boolit. I have plenty of 2400 on hand as well as trail boss and unique. Shooting a 28" pro hunter Tc encore the best by far was 2400. All groups were under 2" at 100 yds. The smallest was under 1" 3 shot group with 18 grains. It is not a super fast load but ES was less than 31 fps over a 20 shot string. average was 1871 over the 20 shot string. Absolutley no lead in bbl. Groups ranged from under 1" to 1.5 with this boolit. I never would have dreamed my first outing with cast rifle would end up like this. Been casting pistol boolits for years. This encore has never shot like this. Trailboss groups were horrible but 2400 is the stuff for the .280.
