I bought one a year ago. Navy arms (Rossi) Short rifle .45 colt. It is slick and shoots very accurately with PB cast , WW ,heat treated and pushed hard.
I put a Marbles tang sight on it as the factory rear would not hold adjustment. The elevator slips under recoil and it would shoot two into one hole and the next one or more would be 2" low.
The stock finish was very light and the pores were open so I refinished it with an oil finish. Other than that it is a fine rifle.

.............I bought one (Rossi) imported by Legasy Sports. A rifle in 45 Colt.

I got the color cased, cresent butt plate & 24" bbl. Wood to metal fit was great. At first I thought the stock was walnut, but it's not. Nice grain anyway and nicely stained & finished. External polishing was superbly done with no dished screwholes or rounded edges where it's supposed to be sharp.

It was pretty smooth as I got it but I couldn't keep from trearing it down and doing some internal polishing and slicking up. Nice rifle, and I'm glad I got it as it's a lot of fun to shoot.

I've got the Rossi/LSI 92 in 357 and .454 and love them both, they are both accurate with cast and those other bullets too. Well made and very strong.

The difference between Navy Arms and LSI rifles is like night and day.

LSI's are generic guns made by Rossi with "genuine hardwood" stocks and stamped steel sights notch and post.

Navy Arms and EMF stocks are American Walnut with superior fit and finish with a forged buckhorn sight and brass front bead. I can't tell any difference in the metalwork and action work between them. All of them have sloppy chambers and shoot as well as they need to out to 100 yards. Be aware that these rifles have 1 in 30" twist rates... heavy bullets may not stabilize beyond 100 yards.

I have 2 LSI carbines, 2 LSI Western Rifles and a Navy Arms short rifle. If I was looking for another 1892 I would get it from EMF in Santa Anna, CA for superior fit and finish with an American Walnut stock and quality sights.

In this months American Rifleman, they have an article on the LSI/Rossi/Puma, they only check out the 45 colt model.

No problem there, its going to get a new barrel anyway. --my project-- (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=16975) I'd like the EMF too, but too much money for something that I'm going to chop and modify.(and possibly ruine in the process [smilie=1: )

Thanks fellows! I just have to find a local shop that I trust to order one, and get the $$ saved. :Fire:
