First Deer and with a Cast Boolit

I tagged a 131 lb Doe this morning.
Was standing with my wife at a trail junction waiting to start up another trail and this one and another ran up 15 yards away. A quick whistle and they froze. 1 shot and 30 yards later she piled up.

Marlin 1895 made ~1906 with an original climbing lyman peep.

Nice doe. The only rifle I can use is a muzzleloader. Works great with cast lead and really drops them quick. Happy hunting.

Nice going doc.

Muzzle loader starts Saturday here and can't hardly wait. I'm using a inline with pellets, sabots and flat nosed .452 boolits.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
Now I need to get out and get the wife some more time in the woods. This is the first year in 10+ years that I've been in the woods more than 2 days. I wanted meat in the freezer badly this year and made the time to get it.
